Versalator Adventure - An interactive application (mini game)

Colour abit weird here. Indian boy not supposed to be that colour
It's over, it's over!
I no longer have to freeze in the Mac lab!
No more sleepless nights and frothing at the mouth already!!
Studio project screwed up my health so so much. Had grand total of five pimples which appeared at different times. Hey, not those calefare baby pimples. Big red attention grabbing ones >"<
Kept hearing my teammate Jesslyn saying " wo de lian yao lan diao liao..."
Haha...
My hair also dropped more than usual. Felt like I was having terminal illness. But stress also good lah, Auntie never come for this month. So kua zhang!!! Where got such thing one??
Anyway the presentation is over. My group was quite lucky because there weren't any major crashes or bugs when demonstrating the game. However there was once when the Mac lagged for three seconds, and didn't respond to the click.
This lecturer went, " BUG...!"
-_-"
So happy to see errors ah? But too bad lah, it was the mighty Macintosh which the school bought that was the problem...whewww.
We were the last group to present, and when we first presented the poster of our interactive application, one of the lecturers said something like, "finally see something decent".
Thank God for my lucky red underwear....oops.
Miss Pat was one of the assessing lecturers who gave us some suggestions during the past week. We tried our best go with her suggestions, but in the end we didn't manage to complete all the stuff which she advised us to do. I was abit worried that she might think we did not take her words in consideration... No no no! Don't misunderstand!!
The studio project is over. I'm so glad that I'm in 8613! Didn't know that studio project could be fun too. Without my teammates' crappy jokes and positive attitude, I think I would be very miserable (and cold) for the three weeks.
Photo after presentation
Why my arm so thick?! I swear(and hope) it's the angle...(>.<)
I went for dinner at Sakura just now, partly to celebrate the end of turmoil! But it's better avoid there on Fridays and weekends. We were sitting outdoors, and the restaurant inside resembled a canteen. Loud chatter! Kids running around. Having to squeeze through chairs. Seeing food counter's selections snapped up in seconds.
Hohohohohoho I'm a free birdy!!!!!!
Flyyyyyy!
Btw I got 84 marks for a graphical user interface design (GUID) quiz. Freaking unbelievable. But I'll accept it gladly!

Some of the results of my modules are out! They are not compiled for overall grades yet, so they listed the gradings for the assignments.
I actually got a B+ for this Digital Sound N Video module assignment!! Super cock because not much effort was spent. 32 seconds only, just two seconds more than the minimum duration required. Don't say it's because of quality over quantity lah, that video had neither of them. I remember I didn't dare to lift my head up when walking back to my seat after the presentation. Hrmpph.
For the Playdoh claymation(clay animation) music video which I did with Jesslyn, we got a B!!! We are very satisfied because our confidence was so pathetic that we didn't dare to attend the screening of every group's MV in the lecture theatre.
Yup yup! Happy!!
Quite satisfied with my Authoring grades too. CABBAAB!
I got C for the first assignment, when we were newly introduced to the program Macromedia Director. I deserved it lah... my animation was super sucky. Hahaha! See liao want to laugh also.
The last four grades are from four quizzes, three with open reference allowed... I would prefer if there was no open book leh. Because our actual knowledge of scripting will then be reflected mah. However not everyone likes scripting...
I think Alvin is a monster lah! His grades for Authoring are BAAAAAA!!!
Jian gui!!
We also received our grades for Interactive Multimedia, the most redundant module up there with DSNV.
A, D and C.
Hahahaha! I thoroughly deserve it. :)
Overall, just happy that I didn't fail IMM!!!! Because while most of the students went to Choong for feedback, I went ahead with my own idea. But mainly because he was always always busy when I went up to him. Made me wait for umpteen times with no success. And similarly, he is still as busy as ever when our group wanted to ask him something today! But still free enough to monitor the other groups lah. Fishy fishy!

I'm sick of tolerating all the noise in the lab. My MP3 player isn't enough! I actually listened to it till the battery went flat, never mind that I only put about 30 songs inside. Then again, maybe the battery life is pathetic lah.
My point is, I feel like I'm attending a song blasting competition every single fucking day. And then Year 1s intrude the lab armed with their screamo songs too. Sometimes with the Crazy Frog remix. OMG what did we do to deserve this?

Photo taken outside the computer labs. We look so prim and proper in the photo sial! With the lanyards and 'ci xiang' smiles... kakakaka!!!
We initially wanted to take the group photo inside the Mac lab posing with all the illegal stuff (a.k.a food). But considering that the room was like an aquarium with big glass windows all around, we decided not to risk having the Director walk in and seeing us posing happily with Nong Shim prawn crackers and Hello Panda cookies. Yup yup.
Our group blog (which we are supposed to maintain as a daily log) is at http://weare8613.blogspot.com . Feel free to snoop around and see what the hell we're up to! Ha as if it's that interesting...
Btw we have a wonderwoman in 8613! Jesslyn (standing beside me) won $1000 in a recent graphic creativity contest! NYP student! DMD student! Interactive Media student! My classmate! And most importantly, in 8613. PFFFFT!!!!! Why I so happy?? I also don't know, maybe crazy already, I got two pimples, one on forehead one at the mouth area, WAHAHAHAHA

Yue yuan ren yuan? How come I keep hearing this phrase! It doesn't even sound logical lah!!
Happy Mooncake Arson Mid-autumn Festival yet again! This year, the burning ground is opposite my block. -_-"
Kids are treating the festival as an excuse to burn things lah...tsk tsk!!
Ohh. How frightened I got as a kid when my lantern caught fire, and how sad I was.
And now!! Children laughing gleefully when they throw their lanterns into that 'bonfire'. Evil evil!
I hope toddlers don't throw their battery-operated ones in too...

Lanterns made by kids at the Esplanade... did I mention how much I loathe my camera?
The weekend has finally arrived! Me and my project group, whom we christened ourselves '8613', are coping well so far. I hope that as the deadline nears, we'll still be able to maintain the steady pace instead of furiously banging on the keyboard, kicking the CPU, before breaking down in hysterical tears while setting ourselves on fire.
Am I a weird person if I say.... that I actually have quite some fun in coding and scripting?
I don't know, but seeing a script work makes me feel all satisfied. Just a few lines of code and you can make an object become an animation.
Minus the debugging part where one has to scan through endless lines of codes for one stupid typo or missing character, I'll even do it as a job. Wahaha!
Woo. It's 2am now and raining. :))) I love it!!

I received a sunflower today! Happy happy! That makes me a yAnG gUaNg nU hAi*~*!
*does 1-2-5-7 poses*
Muahaha I was also the ambassador for the Yellow Ribbon project, as shown below.
A stranger went up to us while we were on the MRT platform and asked to take a photo of the flower which was awkwardly inserted into my bag, with the head poking out. Teehee. He couldn't resist the beauty of the beautiful plant!!
I asked him why he bought it.
"Cos you said you like flowers mah," he replied.
"Err... I like them... when they're still attached to the ground."
"...... orh."
Hahahaha!!! Thanks for the sweet gesture nevertheless boy.
During the past few weeks for a web design assignment, the students had to redesign corporate websites. I got really interested in IKEA after choosing it as the topic for my assignment, especially the IKEA restaurant. So we visited IKEA today since my father is considering doing some refurnishing of my room.
Don't you just hate and love IKEA catalogues (actually most furniture catalogues)? The photographs in it look so homely and comfortable, you can just imagine yourself lazing around on the bed, doing work comfortably at the workdesk, yet you know deep down that when you purchase the same product and put it in your room, it just won't look as appealing. The power of such trickery!
By the way the food at IKEA restaurant is not bad. Especially the swedish meatballs, as mentioned in the IKEA website (haha). Quite cheap too! Worth a second visit... on weekdays preferably, because the place was too damn crowded.
The sunflower boy texted me just now saying that he was in lau pat sat. I automatically asked him how was the stingray, because it's like a tradition lah, you go there, must eat stingray! Then he asked how I knew that he was having stingray. -_-
So I jokingly replied and asked him to look behind, which made him more confused than ever. Puahaha! So damn funny lah!!!

Happy birthday Pa..!! This photo really resembles the one that I took on my mother's birthday last year (29th Dec)... But I like the effect! The lights were actually on when I snapped the photo, but I turned down the exposure to very low. So you get those nice little flame flickers. Happy happy!!!!!!! I'M FREE FROM ASSIGNMENTS!! For the weekend, that is. On Monday, we're going to start our studio project for this semester. This time for us Interactive Multimedia specialisation students, we are told to create an application (something like those interactive educational CD-Rom) with the topic 'Singapore 2050'. A pity that the allocated time for execution is only three weeks. Not long enough to make fanciful exploring features... So tomorrow and Sunday will be fully fully used to the maximum... I'm gonna relax and take a breather. Visit Xiao Guilin again! Teehee! Place of serenity... Tinkle with my new keyboard that Kit bought for me! *touched* I'm learning a very simple version of Canon in D at the moment. Wahaha I have to learn chording again. I miss DGT like siao!!! Gahhh. Can't wait for the next kopi session.
