An open letter to the person who built the LRT
Dear fucker (and all who are involved in making Bukit Panjangers writhe in agony, stomp their feet and pound their hearts while throwing themselves onto the LRT platform):

Hi. I am an average citizen in an average neighbourhood studying in an average school who is taking a pile of shit metal masqueraded as ' a train ' to work and school frequently.

I bet when you named it the Light Rapid Transit you were sniggering to yourself upon the thought of the acronym LRT. It really stands for Lousy Rusty Trains.

What were you thinking when you decided that "oKaY I tHiNk ThE SyTEm Is fLawLess lEt's oPeN iT To The PuBliCx witH a BAng!" Screw you for not doing beta test runs and subsequently wasting HOURS of the Bukit Panjangers who are not rich/old enough to own a car or even a fucking motorbike.

So.

On the morning of Saturday, 29th October 2005, at 6am where many of the residents are still in peaceful slumber, me and some other poor souls who don't have the luxury to do so were at the LRT platform waiting.

When I first saw the signboard displaying "14 MORE MINUTES", I was stumped as it meant that not only will I be late for work, it also meant that I would only do 3 hours of work and earn an amount of money only just enough for buying a can of spray paint and taking a cab to SMRT's headquarters.

Then the announcement came, saying that "due to a technical fault, train service will be delayed for *pause* fifteen minutes^^".

I hate the happiness in the recorded announcers' voices. And... and the lady announcing in Chinese is the freaking same woman who does the 'qing zhan zai huang xian hou mian' warning at MRT stations!!!!! She has a unbelievably naaaaaasal voice and it is sibeh irritating to hear her in the mornings.

Back to waiting. 14 minutes + 15 minutes = late for almost half an hour.

By that time, some of the people waiting stood up and left the station in frustration. Are you happy now? But I thought you might like to know that I GAVE YOU A CHANCE, I continued waiting patiently, I chose to believe!!!

The sky was turning a lighter blue from a blackish black. Birds were chirping.

Finally the announcement said that we only had to wait for 5 more minutes. Lalala.

Weird. No train came. The dreaded automated announcements came on again.

"Your attention please. Due to a technical fault, train service will be delayed for *pause* FIFTEEN MINUTES^^"

FUCK YOU ALL!!!!!!! Not once did I ever hear a real human come on to the intercom and at least inform us about what was causing the glitch. Even if it was geek-talk, I won't mind it if they bothered to entertain me with excuses.

Imbeciles. You thought that the upgrading last year cleared the LRT of all bugs? Wrong, asshole. The problems are still here! So let me get this straight: Engineers shut down the LRT on Sundays for 'repair', causing inconvenience to residents, but nothing good came out of it.

Do me a favour: DROP DEAD.

Yours sincerely,
An average citizen

Malaysiatown
DGT went out for yet another night of mindless gorging and endless chattering yesterday night - with our beloved uncle Bear Bear! He's our designated driver whenever Energy comes to town.

This time, the venue was at a very very ulu place: Bottletree Village. We had been planning to go there for months! Some reasons being... it was far away from crowds (hell, civilisation even), few people knew about it due to the inaccessibility (only accessible by car), and the lack of funds to go to a real resort. Haha!

Bottletree Village is very resort-like, the seafood restaurant there is open-air and facing the sea. Johor Bahru waves at you opposite. It is so...at the borders that your handphone might change the mobile service provider to Malaysia's companies like Celcom or Maxis!

We had to drive through bends of roads with dim lights before arriving there. Quite an adventure since the last Energy arrival...hoho...

The food. We ordered nine dishes - pepper crab, chilli crab, Mongolian pork ribs, cabbage chicken, and a weird dish.... chocolate prawn balls. Not recommended for squirmy eaters who cannot register sweet with salty.

So why Bottletree?

The place is named after a species of tree which has the shape of a bottle (obviously). The trees are not native to Asia, so the owner of the place imported six whole trees from Australia (I think) by the root.

Fun fun fun!

FYI, the address of Bottletree village is 60 Jalan Memburong which will most probably NOT appear in street directories. So tell your taxi driver or father/friend/relative to go off Sembawang Road, and drive straight as there is only one way... past Andrew Ave and turn right. There will be a sign leading you there already. However don't assume that the first sign of civilisation in sight is the place automatically - you will pass by a mosque before reaching. So weird, mosque in such a place...

The price is quite right too, each of us only paid about $20. But it's better if you go in a big group, more wu hua that way! :)

Gahh I realised how much I missed DGT! Hohoho!!! Love ya guys!

Celebrations!!!!!!!

What is this?

WHAT IS THIS??

Well, I've found something that I've been searching for over the past four years! Not daily and constantly though, but ah well.

It's a piece of earring with a super cute design - a mini doorknob with a key inserted into it, leaving one tiiiiiiiny key dangling down ever so cutely.

I'm about to gag with happiness! I first saw it when I was in Secondary 1 I think, while walking around in Jurong Point with my friends. Saw it at 77th Street. Didn't have enough money to buy it then. So I decided to go back a few days later. However that was the last time that I saw the earring!

Everytime when I stopped to browse earrings at accessories shops, I would search for the quirky design, with lingering hope that I would find it. At one point I decided that the earring was out of production already, and unwillingly turned to other weird but not so funky designs like fishbones (BLEAH) and scissors.

Today's the day! Muahahaha I've finally found it!

Congratulations to Loo and Huiling on the successful petition! Energy will be coming for Jin Qu Jiang this November!

However I've decided not to attend it. (Wa! Machiam I superstar leh!)

I don't know whether Milk will be turning up...and the cast isn't that good either with only Mayday as the only attractive guests. If only the three come and I'm there, I'll be even sadder...watching that empty spot that he's supposed to be at.

2002, all five of them.
2003 and 2004, four.

2005....three???

Anyway if MK really turns up, I'll just tag after the JQJ....heh.

fee fi fo fum
Heya... I have returned from my big break! Okay lah not exactly, but it was a chalet where we just lazed around the whole day (similar to the previous one) and chomped on tidbits.

Thank you to half of DGT for coming to liven up the place! Wahaha!

You see...
boys + XBox = no chance for conversation

Lalala... we had pizza and everything was goood. After that the boys returned to their violent squirrel game (Conker) while us the girls chatted. Lots of laughter and sharp-tongued criticism at our favourite band as always! Teehee! Ohh how would we ever live without Energy!!! There would be no topic for us to curse at!

Joking lah. Don't come and scold me. If we really hate them that much, we won't be talking about them at all, would we?

My dear computer Xiao Dian has recovered from a successful surgery! Thank you Doctor Lau!

And yes, I kept my promise to juice it up. It's now running with 1GB of memory as compared to the previous 512MB.

I have more than enough RAM actually but the upgrade is to prepare for future use of a software called Maya which lets you build 3D models, like those which you see in the making of Shrek/Finding Nemo etc with the characters rotating 360 degrees. Maya takes up alot of memory (according to Weikit) and I'm not gonna let it hang with unsaved work!

NOOOOOO!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

*memory relapse*

Ahh and I bought a graphic tablet too. It's not a Wacom, the leading provider in such imagery hardware, but the thing works well. It has 1,024 levels of detection for pen pressure, however there is still difference in performance lah, as compared to Wacom Intuos. Not complaining since it only costs $95.

No fish, prawn also can! :)

Ehhh. Sometimes I feel very geeky talking about all these. No life leh!!

Other girls are spending hundreds of bucks on clothes, makeovers and whatnot.....

And me?

Buy RAM, hard disk, power box, USB adaptor, bluetooth adaptor, bla bla bla more to come.

Hoho... need to be a normal girl once again. Somebody drag me out for some girly shopping please! :D

Sha ren you sha fu
I'll rather be a happy fool than a sad smarty-wannabe. Easier for me and the rest of the world.

From today onwards, I'll think simpler and bathe in Fool's paradise! Cos people like to outsmart each other. What good will I get if I try to prove that I am better than them? Might as well be stupid-er and let them be happy.

Let them hypothesize. Struggle to prove themselves right. Snatch the punchlines. Gloat about a discovery that *yawn* isn't that fresh.

In the meantime, I will smile and nod...give patronising replies ("really? wah") without thinking, thus saving my brain power for better use. Since it makes them happy to know that someone appreciates their intelligence and I like to see people happy, it will make everyone happy!

Oh yeah Xiao Dian died.

(minute of silence............*mourn*)

Boss says that the power box is burnt! He could diagnose the problem because I told him that there was a burning smell everytime I turned on the main switch of the power socket (not the CPU power button). Yucks! It freaked me out when I smelt the chao-tah odour.

My hard-disk! Did not do any backup at all. All my work might be gone (all my base are belong to them ha ha ha), but actually no harm cos my work isn't worthy to be valued and kept lah. At least not now! But but... m-mm-my Energy pictures that I collected from 2002 till now... might be gone. Gulp. And Shinhwa vids.

Xiao Dian jiayou! Master will juice you up once I change the power box!

Yay! Jamie treating us to crabs tomorrow...YABI!!!!!  ^0^>

!Results
Eeeeks! Results are out!

Semester 1 - 2005/2006
DN2301 GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE DESIGN B
DN2302 DIGITAL SOUND AND VIDEO B
DN2303 INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA C
DN2307 CREATIVE PROCESS 3 C+
DN2361 AUTHORING 1 B+
DN2371 WEB DESIGN 1 C
DN2392 INTERACTIVE MEDIA PROJECT 1 B

I'm not very happy with it. No distinctions at all for this semester. And something went wrong with Web Design assignment 3 I think... it took up 50% of the total grade. Sob sob.

Creative Process.....AIYAH HECK!!!! Stingy lecturer. There wasn't even a single A in our class when some of my classmates churned out really nice works.

GUI and DSNV - two of the modules I dislike most - are Bs! It's as if they're trying to make me feel guilty. -_-

But at least we got a B for Studio Project.... efforts didn't go down the drain.

Argh! Mediocre skills, mediocre grades, mediocre life.

Day out

Hoho... This book is a present from Weikit... Came across the book for the first time at the bookstore in Citilink. (Times? MPH?) Anyway we were just standing and browsing though those largish hard cover books, and I told him to buy it for me. As a casual remark.

Wah lao that boy really go buy!! But I like it! Damn interesting. Do you know that there's a cat that has the word 'CAT' in its fur pattern? Creepy....

Also, I finally brought him to Secret Garden! We were the only guests at first. Quite a few changes compared to when I first patronised the place. There were sofas outside and the interior was more classy. But they were preparing for dinnertime's setting which explained the dimmer lights and candles. Coincidentally enough, some of Mediacorp's crew came after a while to do some filming.

Triple Choc cake

It was yummy! I think this photo resembles the blackbean fish that my father cooked earlier on in the afternoon. K nevermind. The cake was freaking nice lah! Teehee. Warm and moist with chocolate syrup.

One interesting thing was that they put mahjong paper over the white tablecloth. It most certainly felt like mahjong paper; can't blame us if it wasn't. And naturally, the white space beckoned us to fill it up, so... we doodled on it. >"<

So sorry... it was irresistible!!!

Later on we caught the movie The 40 Year-old Virgin. Kinda cute but with a terrible ending method. Mwahahaha! Highlight the spoiler here: "PEOPLE DANCING LIKE BOLLYWOOD OMGGG"

I actually went back to check on the official website (http://www.the40yearoldvirgin.com/). And got soOOoo disappointed. Not with the website, but to know that so many parts were cut off in the version that we watched. Now, when I think back on how the audience laughed and slapped their thighs (okay maybe just me)... I feel so sorry for us. We think we're watching good material, but we have no idea of the real stuff. And that's just sad..

Back to yesterday's 'outing'... Celina and Rina were at Bugis also but I think we no fate!!! Hahaha! Called them a couple of times to meet up but our locations were opposite. Bugis street vs Parco and vice versa. In the end we ended our day out with a miserable meal...... miserable portion with so-so taste.

But somehow, Weikit seemed to enjoy it!

Okay lah, that was just a deliberate ah gua pose. Obvious right??? Hahaha...

Right?

(aww poor thing got basketball injury on his wrist)

Hey Niunai korkor

The times...

Okay, news were all over the place since last week, but something stopped me from discussing or mentioning it. Probably because I was hoping for denial and cheerful explanation of "Nope!" from the man himself.

And then it came clear that things weren't going to be okay.

Milk, the leader of (once)popular dance group Energy, is leaving. For good.

To become a dance instructor, back to the teaching grounds, where he belongs in the first place.

I don't think Energy is Energy anymore (actually since the 2003 split). The spirit was already not there when the group became four-man... yes, they sorta pulled up their socks and tried to be better, which we emotionally-tormented supporters gladly appreciated.

But...now you're telling me that the only person who upheld the Energy spirit is leaving?
Might as well announce the split.

Come on come on, we fans can take it!
*rolls sleeves*

What's the use of struggling to hold the group together...there's no point at all.

He can veer towards the hosting biz.
And he with the long hair can continue acting as a nurse.
That guy over there can do well with his kickass attitude and singing ability.

What a grrrreat ending.... just like what I've always been dreaming of!! Don't mind my sarcasm...

But Milk will always be the best of the best.
Great dancing, down-to-earth, and fair to his fans, giving more acknowledgement to the pioneer ones too. But I'm not complaining hehe.

Just hope that he will be happy. When he gets married I'll gatecrash the wedding no matter where it's held at!!!! Hahaha!!

However certainly not in Singapore because our conservative land of Fines bans gay weddings. Or any gay festivals, events and parties that apparently go against the public's interest. Erm time to embrace change, Singapore???
